It’s not very often I buy cake, but last Monday was Pink Ribbon Day, so when I spied these Pink Ribbon cupcakes at Michel’s Patisserie I bought one in the name of a good cause.
I would have been better off donating the $2.70 to the Cancer Council. The cupcake was nothing special; it was basic “white cake”, as my husband called it. It tasted just like any plain cake you buy (or avoid buying) at the supermarket. It was definitely not what you would expect from a patisserie, even a chain. The poor cupcake also lacked in presentation. One side of it had lost some icing before I bought it.
However, other Michel’s offerings, such as the caramel mud cake, have always been good quality and nice tasting. So let’s hope the Pink Ribbon cupcakes were just a small glitch!
